A Peek at My Week

Happy Saturday! I don't know about y'all but one post that I always love reading on other blogs is weekly recaps or travel recaps! I love to know what people are up too behind the scenes of their blog and feel like I get to know them on a more personal level by reading what they do day to day.

Now that I have a lot more time to sit down and write posts to publish here on NP and because I absolutely love weekly recaps, I've decided to start my own weekly recap series! My new series, A Peek at My Week, will go live every Saturday morning and I'm so excited! I contemplated starting this series during the school year but honestly, I didn't have anything super exciting going on besides school but now that it's summer I have a lot more going on and I'm excited to share what I've been up to with y'all!

Last Saturday I slept in and had a super lazy morning where I honestly don't think I got out of my pajamas until about 11am. I was also SO EXCITED to see that my Simplified Planner from Emily Ley arrived, too! I'm planning on doing a post all about why I chose the Simplified Planner and how I plan to utilize it in college so stay tuned for that!

After I finally forced myself to put on actual clothes, I ended up sitting out in the back yard to tan a little bit before I headed inside to fix myself lunch. After I ate I took a shower and blow dried my hair because I was babysitting my neighbors kiddos that night. I babysat from 6pm-12am and since the kids were tired from playing outside all day we just watched some movies and ordered Jimmy Johns subs to be delivered for dinner. The persk of babysitting right across the street from my house is that if the kids start to get hyper, all I have to do is text Ryan and ask him to come over and play basketball or baseball with the kids outside until they start to tire themselves out!

I slept in until about 9am on Sunday before waking up to get ready to head out the Memorial Tournament with Ryan. I'm sure most of y'all already know this but the Memorial is a PGA Tour tournament held at Murifield Village which is in Dublin, Ohio which is only about a 15 minute drive from my house. We actually didn't purchase passes to the tournament this year but one of my sweet friends (Hi Maddie!) and her family were out of town on Sunday so they were super kind and let Ryan and I use their passes for the day.

We got out to the tournament at about 11:30 which was just in time to watch Jason Day (he lives in Columbus!) tee off and we followed him around his first five holes before Ryan got a high five from him! After that we grabbed some sandwiches and waters from a concession stand and went and sat on the 6th green for a while to eat and couple groups play that hole. We then walked the rest of the front nine before heading back to the first hole where we were able to see Jordan Spieth & Michael Greller (his caddy) walk down the first fairway and then we went up to the tee box to watch Rickie Fowler & Jason Dufner tee off followed by Bubba Watson & Justin Thomas. After they had teed off we headed home which thank goodness we did because shortly after we got home the tournament ended up going into several weather delays due to some pretty strong storms passing through the area.

Jason Dufner ended up winning the Memorial which is super cool because not only is Dufner sponsored by vineyard vines but also because I had the opportunity to meet him two years ago when I was a volunteer at the Memorial!

I was up bright & early on Monday morning (well, it was 7:15am but that's early for me!) because I had to nanny starting at 9am. Monday was my first day nannying for the little boy I'm watching this summer and it definitely tired me out! I nanny five days a week, Monday-Friday, but actually have a pretty reasonable schedule. On Monday's and Friday's I nanny from 9am-4pm and then on Tuesday's, Wednesday's and Thursday's I only nanny from 1:30-4:30pm.

After nannying I headed home and just hung out for a while before eating dinner with my mom & Ryan. My dad had been out in Montana the past few days helping my Nana get settled in. My Nana has a house out in Montana that she goes to every summer because the summers aren't nearly as hot as they are here. After dinner my mom & I made a quick trip to Staples to pick up a few things to put together my sorority recruitment recommendation letter packets that I'm going to be mailing to each lady that has agreed to write me a rec letter for their particular sorority. I'm going to be sharing how I made my packets in a blog post here in the next week or two so if you're curious to see more about that definitely be sure to check back!

After we got home from Staples we shot the photos for Tuesday's outfit post which you can read here! I then spent the rest of the night editing photos and writing Tuesday's blog post.

On Tuesday morning I woke up at 7:15 and have a pretty low key morning. I didn't have to nanny until 1:30 so I spent my morning checking off my never ending to-do list. I wrote a couple thank you notes for graduation gifts I received in the mail, I registered to vote and I also worked on some stuff for Northern Prepster. All of that wouldn't have been possible with coffee, which I realized I take way too many pictures of.

I nannied from 1:30-4:30 and then when I came home I check up on my social media and then a little while later I ate dinner with my mom and dad because Ryan was out with a couple of teammates golfing across town.

After did my mom and I went to Target to pick up some travel toiletries for our trip to South Carolina next week and then we went to not one but two different Staples. Yes, you're reading that correctly. I went to a Staples on Monday where we bought a bunch of folders for my sorority recruitment packets but we ended up deciding to return them to get cheaper ones because $20 on folders is a bit crazy. I had 9 ladies who have agreed to write me rec letters for their sororities but Staples on had 8 pink folders. My mom & I were both exhausted and we ended up sitting on the floor of Staples and going through every single pile of folders hoping to find one pink one. We didn't. So we drove to the other Staples in town and they didn't have any pink folders either so it looks like one lady is going to be getting her packet in a blue folder.

After I got home from Staples it was about 8:30pm and my friends Rachel and Lauren picked me up to go grab some treats for my friend Edison who had a small surgery that morning. We picked her up her favorite ice cream, her favorite candy, some get well balloons and a single red rose and we also made her a sign that we held when she opened the door. The sign had a pun relating her surgery to the Bachelorette and honestly, I don't think anyone else would've found it funny except for us because it's kind of a running inside joke between us. It was funny making a sign and showing up at her house with flowers because it felt like we were asking someone to homecoming or prom!

On Wednesday morning I woke up at 7:15 (I'm starting to actually enjoy getting up semi-early!) and hopped in the shower. Originally, my mom and I had plans to meet up with my friend and her mom for lunch but we had to reschedule due to my friend playing in a golf tournament and me not wanting to be late to nanny.

Since I had the morning open with nothing planned I worked on some stuff for Northern Prepster and my mom picked me up an iced coffee and breakfast sandwich from a local coffee shop. Yes, I realize that I take a ton of photos with my coffee and flowers but I feel like that's my aesthetic. Callie the Puppy also was seemingly very interested in my coffee this morning and nudged her way into one of my photos!

I nannied from 1:30-4:30 again and let me tell y'all, I really like my 3 hour days! My 7 hour days on Monday's and Friday's are bearable but 3 hours is so nice. I'm able to get things done in the morning and still get home right before rush house traffic and have my evenings free to do whatever I have to do.

After I got home from nannying I worked on a few things for NP and then my mom and I shot photos of the outfit that I shared with y'all on Thursday! It's one of my all time favorite outfits and if you haven't already seen that post, click here to read it!

On Thursday morning I woke up, again, at 7:15am. I caught up on social media and shared Thursday's blog post (which you can read here!) on all my social media platforms. Then at 8:45 my mom and I took Callie to the vet to get her nails trimmed. After her vet appointment we went through the Starbucks drive-thru and picked up drinks from mom and I and a pup cup for Callie.

Once we got home I had to run a few errands and stop in to see a good family friend of ours. Then I headed over to nanny. Since it was a Thursday I only nannied for 3 hours which meant that I got home 4:45.

Friday morning I was up at 7:15am since I nannied from 9am-4pm. After I finished up nannying I stopped by my favorite smoothie place to pick myself up a smoothie and then headed home.

Once I got home I caught up on my social media and honestly didn't really do anything. Later that night my friends Edison, Lauren and Rachel picked me up and we went to walk around the Park of Roses and then afterwards we went to Cookie Dough Creamery (the best place to get edible cookie dough!) but then after we had had dessert we realized that none of us had eaten dinner so we drove to California Pizza Kitchen and split a couple of small pizzas. I honestly hadn't had a night out with my friends in a couple of weeks so it was nice to catch up with them.

What were you up to this past week?

xoxo,
