January Outfits Recap

Isn't it crazy to think that after today we're already one month into 2017?! For me it just means that I'm one month closer to graduation and one month closer to deciding on a school! I'm writing this post from my hotel room in Lexington, Kentucky as my dad and I are on our way home from our weekend trip to Clemson University (which you can read more about tomorrow!).

One of my goals for 2017 was to share more outfits on Northern Prepster seeing as one of the main reasons I started Northern Prepster was to share my style. I shared two outfits each week, Tuesday's and Thursday's were the days when I would share an outfit post and I really liked that schedule and am going to stick with that this next month, too. Today I'm sharing photos and the links to each of the outfit posts I shared this month here on Northern Prepster!

What were your favorite outfits from January?

18th Birthday Recap

Happy Monday! I'm currently writing this post from my hotel room in Clemson, South Carolina and let me tell ya, even though I'm down south, I'm still wearing fleece sweatpants and am under the covers and still cold! Granted it's a solid 25º warmer here than up in Ohio but still, it's cold!

If you saw Friday's post then you know that I celebrated my 18th birthday on Friday! Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday, it meant a lot! I kept my birthday celebrations very low key this year. After school on Friday I stopped by Starbucks to redeem my free birthday drink, nothing better than a free iced coffee to start the birthday festivities off! Friday night I went out to dinner at my favorite restaurant with my family and my grandma and grandpa. After dinner I came home and was planning on watching Breakfast at Tiffany's but sadly, it has been removed from Netflix so I ended up watching an episode of Gilmore Girls instead.

On Saturday my mom and I headed out to the mall to do a little shopping (Hello J.Crew!). After we got home from the mall I worked on some homework and then got ready to go out to dinner with some of my friends. We went to another one of my favorite restaurants and it was so much fun! None of my friends had ever been to this restaurant before but they all loved it and I know that we will definitely be going back there again!

Sunday morning my dad and I got up super early and drove down to Clemson, South Carolina! I'm going to do a Clemson recap on Wednesday so I'll wait to talk it until then!

Eighteen

Not only is today Friday, but today also happens to be my 18th birthday! (#rCgTurns18!) My birthday celebration plans include dinner tonight with my family at my favorite restaurant, followed by coming home and watching Breakfast at Tiffany's in my pajamas while indulging in some birthday cake that I ordered from my favorite bakery! Tomorrow night I'm going out to dinner with a few friends and early Sunday morning my dad and I are on the road and heading down to Clemson, South Carolina! When I came home from school on Wednesday my parents surprised me with a trip to Clemson for my birthday! Clemson is really high on my college list but seeing as I toured it in the summer when classes weren't in session, I want to see the campus when there's actually students there, haha.

With another trip to Clemson comes another Clemson vlog! Yep, that's right, Northern Prepster is vlogging again! Hopefully this time it won't take me 6 months to get it uploaded like my first Clemson vlog did, haha.

Want to follow me around my trip to Clemson? I tag all my travel photos with #NorthernPrepsterTravels so you can see all my travel photos there!

Navy + Jewels

No matter how long you've been reading Northern Prepster it's clear to see that I love the color navy. A solid 50% of my closet is navy and I have absolutely no shame about that, haha! Navy is such a versatile color and can be paired with dozens of other colors. Navy, red, and white give off a nautical feel, navy and pink are a classical preppy combo, and the list goes on.

Investing in a solid colored navy sweater was one of the best things I did as it can be styled so many different ways. One of my favorite ways to style my navy sweater is to put a button up underneath the sweater and pop the collar over the sweater. When my mom came home with the jeweled button up that I'm wearing I instantly knew that I needed to throw it on under my navy sweater. It's such a fun way to add a little bit extra to my typical outfit.

How would you style this jeweled button up?

My Favorite Shows to Watch on Netflix

My family got Netflix a little over a year ago and I can definitely say that we get our use out of our account. I probably use it the most often, what else is a second semester senior supposed to do? I find myself watching TV series more often then movies and have a select few that are my go-to's and or series that I have finished but still enjoy watching from time to time.

Gossip Girl... I finished Gossip Girl back in the fall but still occasionally will re-watch some of my favorite episodes!

Gilmore Girls... I'm currently watching Gilmore Girls (I wrote all about Gilmore Girls here!) and it is hands down my favorite TV series to date. I'm almost done with season 7 and am so excited to watch the revival!

Hart of Dixie... My mom would occasionally watch Hart of Dixie and I fell in love with the southern charm of the show! I haven't watched this for a couple months now but I'm think that once I finish Gilmore Girls I switch back to this.

Touch... My dad and I watched Touch when it was on TV and I really enjoyed the show! The whole concept of the number theories and patterns is super interesting to me which is why I enjoy watching an episode every once in a while.

The Office... My dad watched The Office and loved it and my younger brother watched it and loved it. I've seen the first two seasons and episodes from other seasons as we frequently watch episodes during my IB psychology class. It's fun to watch episodes in class and then apply what we've learned to the content of the episode!

What are your favorite shows to watch on Netflix?
