Spring Playlist

After receiving a Spotify Premium membership for Christmas I have listened to music almost every single day. Whether it be while I'm doing my homework, working on blog work or hanging out with friends, my Spotify playlists are always playing. Being that spring break is just over two weeks away I've been listening to songs that just seem to fit the idea of "spring break".

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! I hope all y'all had a great week and I bet you're just as excited for the weekend as I am! The weather this week went from being pleasantly warm back to freezing cold winter weather, makes me really wish spring break would get here sooner!

Tonight I'm off to my best friend's house to celebrate her birthday; pizza & Fuller House, what a perfect way to spend a Friday night! Tomorrow night I'm babysitting and Sunday afternoon I have golf practice. In my down time I'm hoping to work on some blog posts and try to find a new swimsuit for spring break!

vineyard vines tote bag
This little bag is oh so cute and I love the whale detailing on the top! It's on the smaller side so I think I may use it for when I purchase fresh flowers, they would look so cute being toted around in this!

peach green tea lemonade
Last Friday my best friend and I went to Starbucks after school to treat ourselves and to kick-start the weekend. I was wanting to try something new so I opted for the peach green tea lemonade and boy oh boy is it delicious. I already know it's going to be my new go-to drink.

stripes & seersucker
As I've mentioned earlier in this post, spring break is just around the corner which means I get to break out my chinos soon. These light blue seersucker shorts are from Old Navy and I can't wait to style them on spring break! This striped sweater is also from Old Navy and I think it would look super cute paired with white jeans and some navy wedges!

Herringbone & Hunters

As we're getting ready to make the transition from winter to spring that also means that we're transitioning from winter clothing to spring clothing. Vest weather is almost over, although it's sad that I won't be wearing some of my favorite pieces for a few months I am so excited for short sleeves and shorts.

I had to dress up for a discussion in one of my classes and opted to wear my herringbone vest over the dress not only give it a preppy touch but also to get one last wear out of my vest for the season. I wore a simple black dress with my herringbone vest and my black Hunter rain boots as it rained all day. As much as I don't like wearing dresses to school, I really didn't mind this outfit!

Are you as ready for spring weather as I am?

Favorite Makeup Products

I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of beauty products. While I do have my go-to products that I use almost daily, I would much rather prefer to be spending my money on clothing than the newest eyeshadow palette.

I have fairly sensitive skin and it is prone to acne which limits what brands and products I can use. I don't stick to one brand, for the most part each product is a different brand. I've used the same 6 or 7 products for a few years now and overtime they have grown to be some of my favorites.

Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Powder: On days when my face doesn't have any breakouts, I use this instead of applying concealer. I love that it gives me coverage and doesn't make my face oily by the end of the day.

Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder: I began using this product about 2 years ago during the summer. I'm sure you've experienced your face being oily and it's just not a fun feeling. I use this product everyday and while it doesn't completely stop my face from becoming oily, it does a really nice job at controlling it.

Covergirl Invisible Concealer: I began using this concealer in middle school simply to cover up acne and still to this day use it for the same purpose. This provides me with just enough coverage without looking caked on my face.

Covergirl Lashblast Volume Mascara: I didn't start wearing mascara until the end of my freshman year of high school. I never saw the point of it but man oh man was I wrong. If I could only wear one beauty product each day it would hands down be mascara! Especially this one from Covergirl, it makes my eyelashes look bolder and in turn makes me look more awake! It's a win-win situation!

Benefit Cosmetics Watt's Up! Highlighter: I received this tiny sample of highlighter in a Sephora birthday gift and really love it! I typically use it on the inner corners of my eyes as it makes me look more awake!

Urban Decay Naked Basics Eyeshadow Palette: One of my friends gifted me this eyeshadow palette for my birthday last year and it's the only eyeshadow I use! The colors are neutrals which is perfect because I always aim for a very natural makeup look! If you're searching for a good eyeshadow palette with basic colors, I would definitely recommend this one!

Estée Lauder Lipstick- Tiramisu: This lipstick was a gift from my mom and it's my all-time favorite lipstick! The color is so natural yet looks so nice against my rather pale skin. I'm very hit or miss with lipsticks and this one was definitely a huge hit with me!

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes: I've been using these makeup remover wipes for several years now as I have found that they are one of the few brands that A) removes all of my makeup and B) doesn't irritate my skin. I use these everyday before I get in the shower and never have to worry about any of makeup still being left on.

Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer: I have rather pale skin so whenever I want to look like I have some color, I'll apply this moisturizer. The results are very subtle but just enough to make me appear not so pale.

Cetaphil Face Lotion: Especially during the winter my face gets super dry and this Cetaphil face lotion keeps my skin super moisturized. I apply it every morning before I put my makeup on and every night after I have taken my makeup off and washed my face. It's a true lifesaver in this cold weather.

Spring Wishlist

By the end of February, I am oh so ready for warmer weather. After a long & cold winter filled with sweaters and jeans, I can not help but find myself daydreaming about shorts and sandals. I adore spring time because you get to wear both pastel colors and bright colors that have been sitting in closet for several months. With spring break being a little over 3 weeks away (!!!!) I'm on the lookout for some fun new bright pieces to style while in Florida. This hot pink satin dress is darling and for less than $50 I think I may need to pick it up! Not to mention this blush colored Kate Spade tote is oh so cute and the scalloped detail is the perfect touch!

What's on your wishlist this spring?

Shoe Shopping // Flats

Believe it or not Spring is just around the corner and with that comes Spring clothing. Looking through my closet yesterday I realized that my style is built for warmer weather. I would much rather be wearing sandals and flats over boots.

I've been seeing so many new pins on Pinterest all about flats for Spring and used that as my inspiration for today's post. I've picked up 5 pairs of flats that I think would be so much fun to try out for the Spring season.

Friday Favorites

TGIF! Although I only had a 3 day school week thanks to a snow day on Tuesday I am oh so excited for the weekend! I don't have anything too exciting planned just a lot of golf practice and I'm hoping to get fully caught back up on blogging. I've been working on updating the blog design and am hoping to get everything smoothed out and looking the way I want it to!

Bright Colors
I'm so ready for Spring and warmer, sunnier weather. As much as I appreciate a snow day here and there I am a warm weather person and prefer to be in my Jack Rogers and Lilly Pulitzer shift dresses. I'm ready to trade in my hot chocolates for lemonade and to be able to golf outside! Anybody else feel the same?

 |J.Crew Pajama Pants|
I picked up this pair of pajama pants from the J.Crew clearance rack a few weeks ago & boy oh boy do I love them! They are so comfortable and they're still warm without being too warm! If you're on the look-out for some new pajamas definitely be sure to check out J.Crew!

Ballcaps & Rainboots
It's no secret that I LOVE my Hunter's and recently I have loving pairing a ballcap with my outfit! It gives an outfit such a casual feel and not to mention is perfect for bad hair days! This Southern Hat is my new favorite and I already know it's going to be one of my go-to's the Spring & Summer!

Valentine's Day Recap

Happy Thursday! As I'm sure most of y'all know, Valentine's Day was this past Sunday. I spent my day eating lots of sweet treats and driving around with my mom taking pictures for my photography class. I did managed to snap quite a few pictures throughout the day so that's what I'm going to be sharing with y'all today!

I started off my morning with a big mug of hot chocolate and this sweet little chocolate dipped marshmallow that I had made the previous night at the friends house.

One of the requirements for my photo shoot was a city skyline so my mom & I headed downtown so I could snap some pictures. My mom snapped this picture of me with the city in the background and I really love it!

Our next stop was German Village. German Village is such a fun place to explore and is home to my favorite macaroon store: Pistacia Vera. Of course, we had to stop in and grab some macaroons, shortbread cookies & a giant chocolate croissant!

How pretty are these macaroons?!

Here we have a photo of me taking a photo of my favorite macaroon store. #BloggerStatus.

We somehow ended up in a book loft with 36 different rooms. We didn't venture too far into the rooms because we didn't want to get lost but outside the loft was this neat little brick sidewalk and I loved the overall look of it so I had my mom snap another pic of my outfit for me.

Once we got home I handed over the DSLR to my mom and had her take one final outfit photo so I had something of a little higher quality than an iPhone photo to share with y'all on Instagram.

I added this red scarf to give my outfit a pop of color and since it was Valentine's day I felt as though red or pink was necessary. I finally got to wear my Southern Proper hat that my sweet friend Audrey gave to me for my birthday & I absolutely love it! I already know it's going to be a staple in my wardrobe during the Spring and Summer months!

Chocolate covered strawberries & marble makes for an oh so happy Riley!

For our Valentine's day dessert we had cupcakes in a jar from Wicked Good Cupcakes! If y'all haven't had these before then you're missing out! They are so yummy!

How fun is this photo! This shortbread cookie from Pistacia Vera was oh so yummy!

I hope y'all had a super sweet Valentine's Day!

Workout Wear // Sneakers

I love tennis shoes. In all honesty I probably wear mine at least 3 days, if not more, each week. As much as I love my riding boots and Hunter's there are days when I just need comfort and my tennis shoes are my go-to comfort shoes.

I am always looking for new tennis shoes and LOVE whenever I get a new pair. My favorite sneaker brand is Nike (which you'll see below) and I love to experiment with all their bright colors. I currently have a pair of pink & gray Nike Free Run 5.0's and love them oh so much. I am hoping to get a new pair soon as I have had my current pair for almost a year and I have my heart set on a pair of Nike Roshes (I'm just a tad obsessed with them).

Today I've picked out 4 pair of tennis shoes that I think are super cute and would be oh so fun to try out sometime soon. 3 pairs are Nike's (told y'all I love Nike) and 1 pair is a pink & navy pair of New Balance's that I've been seeing all over Pinterest and Instagram. If any of y'all own a pair let me know what you think of them!
