Graduation Dresses

High school graduations are looming just around the corner and the pressure to find the perfect dress is in full force. Traditionally at my school, and many others, white dresses are worn under your graduation gown. My graduation is 18 days away (May 28th, hurry up!) and although I've had my dress since Spring Break, I know a lot of my friends and classmates are scrambling to find a dress for the big day.

Being a senior, these last few weeks have been very light on the work load and most school days consist of tying up loose ends and just sitting in class and have free periods. Thanks to the ample amount of free time I have now, I've been looking around online and I've gathered up a handful of my personal favorite dresses for graduation! I've included a variety of price ranges, some that are reasonably priced and others that are a bit more expensive but after all, it is your graduation day and sometimes you just have to #treatyoself.

The dress that I'll be sporting at graduation is this one from J.Crew that I bought back while I was in Naples and spent the morning working with a personal stylist at J.Crew! You can read all about my experience with a personal stylist in this post! I've yet to find a pair of wedges to wear so any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated! My cap & gown are black so I'm trying to avoid navy but I'm open to anything else!

Have you found your graduation dress yet?

Q&A

Yesterday I posted on my Instagram and asked y'all to ask me questions for this Q&A. I've never done a Q&A post before and while I feel like y'all know me pretty well, I wanted to answer your questions to allow you to get to know me even better. I received a TON of questions (thank you!) and will do my best to answer each one!

"Favorite food?"
I LOVE salmon! I could eat it for lunch & dinner every single day if I had to! But I also have a huge sweet tooth and will eat just about anything that has chocolate in it!

"What clothing items are on your wish list right now?"
I'm obsessed with this top from J.Crew, this dress from Lilly Pulitzer, & these Jack Rogers!

"How long have you been blogging?"
Just over 3 years! You can read all about the last three years in this post!

"Why did you start blogging?"
I started blogging as an outlet from school and as a way to share my style. My dad has a blog so I was fairly familiar with the concept of blogging and after doing a bit of research about blogging, I sat down and created the very site your on right now! I explain more about my blogging in this post!

"If you could have an accent, which one would you choose?"
Hands down a southern accent! I don't know what it is about them but I just love them!

"Where do you see yourself in 10 years?"
Hopefully as a second grade teacher and possibly with a family of my own! Location wise, I'm not sure if I'll end up back in my hometown or if I'll be in South Carolina, I guess we'll have to see what happens!

"Will you be a mom blogger?"
I love blogging and would like to continue it for as long as I can but I'll deal with this question later on down the road, haha.

"Favorite line from Gossip Girl?"
"If you really want something you don't stop for anyone of anything until you get it" -Blair Waldorf

"Poor and happy or rich and miserable?"
Poor & happy. Happiness>anything else.

"What advice would you give to an upcoming senior & starting to look at colleges?"
If you haven't already, read my letter to underclassmen from a second semester senior! As for the college search, it will be frustrating and there will likely be a time when you feel like you'll never find "the one" but trust me, when you find your school, you'll know you've found it. Look at schools that you're interested in, not because it's where all of your friends are going, after all, it's your education.

"What are your favorite stores to shop at?"
J.Crew, LOFT, TJMaxx & Marshalls!

"What's something you couldn't live without?"
Aside from my phone, definitely my pearl earrings! I've worn my pearls everyday for the last 4 years and it's become a habit of mine to put them in as soon as I wake up in the mornings! If I didn't have my pearls in one day I honestly don't think I'd be able to function properly.

"What/where is your happy place?"
The beach! I could sit on the beach and just people watch and listen to the ocean for hours!

"What will the theme of your dorm room be?"
Navy & pink with touches of gingham & gold!

"What's your major going to be in college?"
Elementary Education! I want to teach elementary schoolers around the 2nd grade level! You can read more about my major and my college decision in this post!

"Best thing to have in your college dorm?"
Ask me again a year from now and I'll be able to give you a better answer because I haven't lived in a dorm yet but I guess I would have to say something to remind you of home!

"Favorite quote?"
She believed she could, so she did.

"If you could travel any place in the world right now where would you go?"
Nantucket! (or to Charlotte to see my bestie Katie from Chic in Carolina!)

"Tips for beginning bloggers?"
You can read my best tips for beginning bloggers in this post here!

"How to grow your Instagram account & keep a good theme?"
I wrote all about growing your account & about Instagram themes, which you can read about here, here & here!
"How do you take & edit your pictures?"
Click here to read about how I edit my photos!

"Are you excited for college?"
YES!

"Do you plan to rush?"
YES! I just registered for recruitment a couple days ago!

"What are you most excited for about college?"
I honestly and most excited to be somewhere new. As much as I know I'm going to miss it up here in my hometown in Ohio, I'm so ready to get out and explore new places. I'm also really excited to meet new people and make new friends!

Thank y'all SO much for all the questions! I hope you enjoyed reading my responses to the questions just as much as I enjoyed answering them!

Younique 3D Fiber Lashes

Hands down, the number one makeup product I can't leave the house without putting on is mascara. It makes my eyes look bigger (& more awake) and even just having a little bit of makeup on make's me feel much more put together. But even with my drugstore mascara applied, my eyes still didn't "pop" the way I hoped they would.

Enter Younique 3D Fiber Lashes.

I'm not sure if any of y'all are familiar with this mascara, but if you're not, it is a game changer. I had the opportunity to visit with Cara Cloyd, a presenter for Younique, a little while back and learn all about all of the products she had to offer. I'll admit, I went into that day with the intention of only purchasing a lip product but within 5 minutes of listening to Cara talk about the products, I was hooked and ended up walking away with a bag full of Younique products! Cara was also so generous as to give me a package of their 3D Fiber Lashes mascara to test out and see what I thought about them.

And let me tell you,
I. Love. It.

This mascara is the real deal, y'all. Not only is it water resistant, but it also provides 400% (Yep, 400%!) more volume and length. If you're like me and have sensitive eyes or if you wear contact lenses, this mascara is PERFECT. Especially around this time of the year when we're all dealing with allergies, I don't have to worry about any additional irritation from my mascara. The first time I wore the 3D Fiber lashes, I received so many compliments. Even my precalculus teacher commented on how much she loved my eye makeup!

Let me explain how this mascara works. When you receive your 3D Fiber Lash mascara you'll get two tubes, one with the fibers and the other with the transplanting gel. The first thing you'll do is apply a coat of the transplanting gel to your lashes to give the fibers somethings to adhere to. Then you'll take your tube with the fibers and apply that to your lashes. Cara suggested to me that I roll the end of the wand (the end with the fibers) over the top of my hand to make sure the fibers are compacted onto the wand and not going to fall off and get in my eyes. After you've applied your fibers, you'll go back in with another coat of the transplanting gel to make sure your fibers aren't going anywhere. Then you'll stop back and just stare, in awe, at yourself in the mirror as you realize how dang good your lashes look. The length and volume that this mascara provide is INSANE! I'm serious when I say that this is must-have product in your makeup collection. Not to mention the packaging is stunning!

For more details and to check out all the other products Younique has to offer, you can visit Cara's website by clicking here and if you'd like to go straight to the 3D Fiber Lashes, click here

Aside from the 3D Fiber Lashes mascara, a few of my other favorite products from Younique are the Moodstruck Precision Brow Liner, the Moodstruck Precision Brow GelLip Bonbons Tinted Lip Balm (can't leave the house without this stuff either!), and the Touch Mineral Pressed Powder Foundation!

A very big thank to you Cara Cloyd for graciously providing me with my own 3D Fiber Lashes mascara and for introducing me to this wonderful & life changing product, I will definitely be stocking up before I leave for college in a few months!

Have you ever tried this mascara?

Senior Prom

This past Saturday night was my senior prom and I'm so excited to be sharing some photos of that with y'all today! When I woke up on Saturday morning it was rainy so hard and the radar looked absolutely terrible! We were forecasted to have severe storms all day and throughout the night too which meant that pictures weren't going to be easy. But then in a surprisingly turn of events, the sun came out and it stayed out for the rest of the day! It was a prom miracle.

I didn't go to prom my junior year so this year was my first and last prom dance and my final dance of high school. I can't wrap my mind around the fact that I graduate from high school in 25 days. That's crazy to me and as excited as I am to be down with high school, I'm in a bit of denial that I'm almost done.

My prom dress was navy, shocker, I know, and I wore a pair of silver heels with the dress. For accessories, I kept it simple with a silver ring and instead of wearing my typical pearl stud earrings, I managed to find a pair of silver dangly earrings that had pearls on them. It's becoming an ongoing joke amongst my friends and I that I just can't go anywhere without my pearls, which is true. I've looked all over the internet to try to find a link to purchase my dress but the only one I've come across is via overstock.com which if you're interested, click here to see my prom dress. I'll link the rest of my prom outfit details at the end of this post in case you're curious as to where I got everything!

What's your favorite prom memory?
