Mardi Gras Sorority Function

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all had a nice weekend and that your week is off to a good start! This past Friday my sorority had our first function of second semester which was Crush Party. The theme for our function was Mardi Gras which was so much fun! I took my sweet roomie Sophie as my date and we had so much fun getting all dressed up & dancing the night away with a bunch of our friends.

I don't usually share pictures from things like this but our pictures ended up turning up super cute and I thought this would be a fun post that's a little different than my usual content!

We didn't have a specific dress code for this function so Soph and I opted for the more casual & cheesy route with lots of beads, boas, gold head boppers and Soph even went all out with metallic gold leggings. For my outfit, I just wore a simple plain white shirt with a jean skirt that I'm already obsessed with! I was skeptical about jean skirts but now that I have one I already know I'm going to get so much wear out of it during the spring & summer! My sorority twin, Lynn, wore an outfit super similar to mine which was so funny when we showed up to the house and saw each other!

Happy Monday!

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day, friends! As much as I wish I could say that my outfit to class today looks like the outfit in the photos below, I can't. I took these outfit pictures back in early January when I was home for winter break and I'm super excited to finally get to share them!

My Valentine's Day plans this year include an elementary math exam this morning (how fun) but then later tonight my sweet roommate Sophie and my suitemate Claire and I are going to Kaminsky's which is our favorite dessert cafe here in Columbia for some sweet treats to celebrate Galentine's Day before coming back to the dorms to study as I have an educational psychology exam tomorrow morning. Fun things over here guys.

This outfit is definitely more on the casual side for Valentine's day but with the plans I have this year, it's perfect for desserts with my gal pals. I paired this super fun pink vest with a solid white shirt, jeans & riding boots. I'll include links to my outfit at the end of this post for y'all to shop!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Follow Me Around Charleston, South Carolina

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a nice weekend and that your week is off to a good start! This post is going up a bit later today as I was super busy yesterday with homework but thankfully I have a nice hour and a half break between my first and last class today so I'm finally able to get this post up!

As I'm sure you all know, I went to Charleston two weekends ago and while I was there I attempted to vlog my weekend in the city. Vlogging is definitely not a skill of mine but I still had a lot of fun filming and editing this video! I'm going to be sharing more photos from my trip in later posts here on Northern Prepster but I wanted to get my vlog up as soon as possible seeing as my last vlog took six months to upload. Oops.

I'll link to my video below but you can also click HERE to watch it! I also made a different video that isn't vlog style but I had a TON of fun with this one. I shared it in this post last week but you can click HERE to watch that if you haven't seen it already! I'm thinking about making some videos like that over Spring Break in a few weeks, thoughts?

Happy Monday!

A Weekend in Charleston Video Recap

Happy Monday! I hope you all enjoyed your weekends and the Super Bowl last night. (Any Eagles fans here?) If you follow me on Instagram (@northprepster) then you know that I spent the weekend in Charleston, South Carolina.

Charleston is a quick 2 hour drive from campus here in Columbia so it's perfect for a nice little weekend road trip. While in Charleston, I took various video clips of my adventures around the city and put them all into one video for you to see a glimpse into my weekend. I also did more of vlog style video which is still in the works so heres to hoping that get's edited and posted soon!

Even though I'm not the best at filming these types of videos, I still really enjoyed this and would like to make more videos like this in the future. It's fun to look back on things like this to remember all of my travels and memories!

If the video above isn't working you can click  HERE to watch the video or you can go to YouTube and search 'Riley Carpenter' and it should pop up! I hope you enjoy getting to follow me around one of my favorite cities!

Would you like to see more videos like this in the future?
