A Peek at My Week

Long time no blog post & super long time no "A Peek at My Week" post! My apologies for being MIA for the past few weeks, after I got back to school after Thanksgiving Break exams and the end of the semester consumed all of my time! I am finally home for the holidays now and am super excited to be home a little over 4 weeks! These next few weeks will be just what I need to get caught up on blog work & prepare some fun new content for the new year!

On Saturday I slept in until 10:30am and then got up and quickly threw on a comfy outfit and met my big & my twin at my favorite coffee shop on campus to study for a bit. I had the yummiest latte and actually got a lot of studying done, after all, we were there for just about 3 hours. I definitely lucked out with my exam schedule this semester because I only had two exams, one of which was open note so I really only had one exam to study for.

After I got back to my dorm I walked over to the student union and picked myself up a salad & some fresh fruit and took that back to my room where I watched a couple episodes of Grey's Anatomy before studying some more.

On Sunday I woke up around 8:30am to do my laundry. I've figured out that if I get my laundry done before 11:30am on Sunday's I won't have to wait for any machines because most people are still sleeping. While my laundry was washing, I headed over to the student union to grab myself a bagel & coffee and took that back to my room and ate that while I did a bit of studying and waited for my laundry to be done.

It was cold in Columbia on Sunday so I spent most of the day hanging out in the dorm with Sophie. We both did quite a bit of studying but we definitely had our fair share of Christmas music dancing & singing breaks.

Later that night we decided to have a fun Christmas photo shoot since we had some cute garland and the walls in the hallway of our residence hall are red. Sophie put on her elf costume & I put on my plaid Christmas pajamas and our suitemate Peyton snapped some super cute pictures of us!

I didn't have any exams on Monday so I slept in until around 9am and then I got up and just had a lazy morning. I eventually got dressed and walked down to the Delta Zeta house to pick up my semi-formal shirt and then on the way back I picked up lunch from one of the dining halls near Greek Village and brought that back to my room and ate that while I reviewed for my history exam.

On Tuesday I slept in again because my exam wasn't until 12:30pm. This exam was for my dance history class and was open note so I wasn't too worried about it since I took pretty good notes during lectures. After my exam, I headed over to the bookstore to return all the textbooks I rented and then picked up food for lunch from the pizza & pasta restaurant in the student union.

At 2pm I logged onto my American Airlines account to check-in for my flight home the next day & print out my boarding passes. I then made sure I had my bags all packed up & tidied up my room a bit.

I spent the rest of the night studying for my history exam but still managed to get in bed by 11:30 to make sure I got a decent amount of sleep so I was well rested for my exam & the day of traveling I had ahead of me.

On Wednesday I was up at 7:30am to get ready & review quickly before my history exam at 9am. I was really nervous for this exam and it was definitely hard to focus because I knew that the only thing standing between me and flying home for the holidays was this exam. Thankfully, my preparation paid off because the exam was super easy & I was out of there by 9:45am!

After my exam, I headed over to the student union to use one last meal swipe & picked myself up some chicken minis from Chick-fil-a and a strawberry banana smoothie.

Since my flight wasn't until 2pm I didn't Uber to the airport until 11:45am. I got to the airport around 12:15pm which was a little early considering how small the Columbia airport is but I expected it to be crowded with lots of students flying home for break. I was wrong. I was the ONLY person in security. After I made it through security I picked up a water bottle and then headed to my gate where I caught up on my Instagram feed.

I connected through Charlotte and originally had a quick connection but my flight from Columbia ended up getting in over half an hour early so I didn't have to rush from terminal E to terminal C. I landed back home in Ohio a little after 5 and my dad picked me up and took me home! We picked up pizza from my favorite pizza place in town on our way home and I spent the rest of the night hanging out at home.

Thursday morning I woke up around 9 and made myself some hot chocolate in an adorable holiday mug before getting ready to go shopping with my dad. We headed to the outlet malls about 45 minutes away and did a little bit of holiday shopping.

When we got home I helped my mom decorate the Christmas tree which is one of my favorite things to do during the holidays! I love to put on my favorite Christmas songs and look through all of our ornaments because they all have special memories behind them.

Friday morning I woke up at 8am to quickly get ready because my best friend Lauren was picking me up at 9am to go grab breakfast and then do a bit of shopping for our Secret Santa gift exchange that we have coming up this next week.

I saw Lauren for a couple of hours over Thanksgiving Break but it was so nice to hang out with her one on one. Lauren & I have been best friends since kindergarten and even though we go to school six hours apart, we still picked up right where we left out last time we saw each other.

After Lauren dropped me off my mom and I headed over to my grandparent's house to say hi to them and then we stopped by Ulta to pick up a few things before picking Ryan up from school. I also decorated a gingerbread house which surprisingly turned out well enough for my mom to display it on the living room mantle. #Thriving.

I spent the rest of the night alternating between watching Grey's Anatomy and Hallmark movies. My kind of Friday night y'all.

Saturday I slept in until 8:30am before getting up to make myself some hot chocolate and getting ready to run some errands with my mom. We had a couple returns to make and needed to pick up some things here and there and after we were done we stopped by Chipotle so I could pick up some lunch for Ryan & I.

Later that afternoon my mom and I ran to the grocery store to grab a few baking supplies as we made a couple batches of Christmas cookies later that evening. On our way home from the grocery, we stopped by Starbucks to get a little afternoon pick-me-up.

After we baked cookies, I spent the rest of the night watching Hallmark movies & working on some things for the blog.

How was your past week?

xoxo,
