Navy & Seersucker

Seeing as I didn't dedicate an entire post to last nights outfit I decided I'll combine tonight's and yesterday's outfits into one post as I didn't take a great deal of photos either day. If you would like to know where something is from all the details can be found on my Instagram (@northprepster) Enjoy!

Think Pink

Although the weather again today wasn't the greatest, I decided to sport my bright pink Lilly Pulitzer dress along with a pearl necklace as my family & I headed out to a rather fancy island dining restaurant. My mom & I had a lot of fun taking these photos this evening so I hope you all enjoy! PS. how adorable does my younger brother look in his Ralph Lauren button up?!

Palms & Pixi Pants

Hello from Hilton Head! I am ecstatic to finally be able to kick back and relax for the next week. We arrived yesterday so today was our first full day of vacation. Sadly, it rained all day today and the radar doesn't look promising tomorrow either :( In hope to boost my mood I chose to wear my pixi pants from Old Navy that are actually several years old but they finally fit me this year! Since the pants are such a bright and busy print I paired them with a simple tee from J.Crew, a pendant necklace from Charming Charlie's (see post about that here) and my favorite, go-to pair of gold sandals from Target. I'm sorry for the quality of these photos, they didn't look fuzzy on the camera but appear fuzzy on my computer. Anyways, I hope you enjoy these photos!

5 Tips for More Energy (without drinking coffee)

We've all been there. It's only 1PM and we're drained and ready for a long nap. I've been there too many times and I bet there's lots of you who have too. I know that winter is really draining people's energy levels so today I'm going to share a few ways you can maintain or gain energy without drinking coffee :)

||one|| Go Outside: sitting in a desk or cubicle all day drains your energy. Take a few minutes when you have a break to pop outside for a few minutes. When you come back you'll have a restored amount of energy and be ready to tackle your next task.

||two|| Drink water as soon as you wake up: By drinking water minutes after rising your fueling your body to perform at its best all day long. The water gives your digestive system a kick start and you'll be feeling energized and ready to go.

||three|| Eat an energizing snack: Fresh fruit, veggies and cheese will leave you feeling so much better compared to that bag of Cheetos. Save yourself the exhaustion and skip the vending machine and opt for a healthier option. Your body will thank you later.

||four|| Watch your caffeine: I know it's hard for some people to even get going without a cup of coffee but after that initial boost of energy that coffee provides you're left feeling sluggish and fatigue afterwards. Opt out of coffee and go for some juice or flavored water. By moderating your caffeine intake, you'll be able to maintain your energy levels instead of the sudden bursts coffee and caffeine provide you with.

||five|| Turn off your technology & get to bed: by putting down the phone and getting bed a routine time you're allowing your body to get the amount of sleep it needs in order for you to feel energized tomorrow. Having trouble falling asleep? Try putting your cell phone & electronics away 30 minutes- an hour before lights out.

How do you stay energized?

Monday Mantra

While Monday's have a connotation to be awful and the worst day of the week, I believe that by putting yourself in the right mindset, Monday's don't have to be awful. While browsing Pinterest (I know, what's new? Riley's on Pinterest) I came across this pin via the wonderful Evelyn Henson that I'm using as this weeks mantra and thought I'd share in case you needed a little inspiration for the week too!

Instagram
This past month my district has had 3 calamity days so I took advantage of my days off to catch up on the latest styles J.Crew has to offer.

While the dog wasn't too pleased about being placed in a shopping bag, I LOVE this photo and am thinking about getting it framed for my room. Although we did manage to rip the bag :( in the process, I am still very pleased with this photo!

Also thinking about this one framed and hanging it next to my closet :)
