A Week in My Life

Maybe it's just me but I feel like 4 day weeks go by slower then a normal 5 day week. This past week has been pretty laid back since I had Monday off from school and now that golf is done and all my college applications are submitted, I honestly don't have much to do.

I'm about three weeks into my second semester of senior year and the way my schedule played out this semester just so happened to give me 7th and 8th period study halls. At my school, seniors have the privilege of having open study halls meaning that we can go off campus during our study halls. Since my study halls fall during the last two periods of the day, my school days end around 1:15 everyday (12:55 on Thursday because of a weird schedule we use on Thursdays!) I've been wanting to share a week in my life post for quite a while now and went back and forth between the thought of doing this post as a vlog or just written. I opted for the written version just because I don't have a lot of time to sit down and edit a vlog, haha. So if you ever wondered what a typical week in my life looks like, here you go!

Saturday... Let me start off by explaining that I started experiencing SUPER bad technical issues with my phone late Friday night. My phone wouldn't pick up that I was touching the screen and it was almost as if someone had control of my phone; it was calling some of my friends, commenting on Instagram photos, sending Snapchat messages, and playing random songs from my Spotify all without me even touching my phone. I tried to turn my phone off so prevent it from calling any of my friends in the middle of night but it wouldn't even turn off! I tried to research the issue to see if there was anything I could do to fix the problem but nothing with the same issues as me came back. So early Saturday morning my dad and I headed across town to the Apple store to figure out what was wrong with my phone.

Once at the Apple store, the employee that worked with us ran some tests on my phone but nothing came back, no red flags went up. They told us that they weren't sure what was happening to my phone and that they had two possible ideas as to how to prevent it from happening again: I could either completely wipe my phone from everything or I could opt for a brand new phone. I certainly didn't want to pay $300 for a new phone but I also didn't want to lose everything I had on my phone. I had backed my phone up to my computer at the end of December but still had three weeks worth of blog content saved in my phone. I'll be honest, I cried right there in the Apple store because I was terrified to lose all that content! Luckily, the girl that was working with me assured me that everything would be ok and we went ahead and wiped my phone.

My phone has since been restored to everything it had when I last backed it up but I've still had the same issues happen a few times since then. Anyway, after spending over an hour in the Apple store my dad and I stopped my Starbucks to pick up some much needed coffee.

Later in the day my mom shot Tuesday's outfit post with me and then my sweet friend Rachel shot Thursday's outfit post with me.

Sunday... Sunday morning was another pretty early morning as I had to run some errands with my mom and let my neighbors dog, who I have been dog sitting for all week, out and feed it. I love dogs but boy oh boy this dog and I do not see eye to eye. I've been bit a few times, barked out countless times and I even missed a paper submission online because the dog would not walk up their driveway so I could put it back inside! The little thing just sat there at the bottom of the driveway refusing to let me take it back inside! I stood out there for a solid 20 minutes trying to get it back inside before I finally called my best friend's mom to come help me, haha!

Sunday's errands consisted of a stop at the florist to order a corsage for my brother's date. My schools winter formal dance is this Saturday night and since the girl that asked my brother to the dance also happens to be one of my best friends, I saved my brother the trip and told him I would pick out her corsage (#BestSisterEver)

After we finished running errands I finished up my homework and then spent the rest of the day working on this past weeks blog content.

Monday... Monday we have off from school and it was so nice to be able to sleep in! My mom and I had to drop my dad off at the airport later that morning as he has been in New York City (#Jealous) for work this past week. On our way home from the airport we stopped to pick up some soups, salads, and sandwiches for lunch along with some bundt cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes for us to eat while we watched the Bachelor that night.

Later in the day on Monday I worked on a few scholarship applications and then watched the Bachelor with my mom that night.

Tuesday... Tuesday was a typical school day for me, I didn't have any tests or quizzes which was super nice! After school I finished up editing Wednesday's and Thursday's blog posts.

Wednesday... Honestly, nothing exciting happened on Wednesday, haha.

Thursday... On Thursday's my school has a weird schedule but it means that my school day ends at 12:55 which means I'm home around 1:15! I took advantage of my extra time home and went back to my former elementary school to work with my former 3rd grade teacher and her class! I got to work with small groups of kiddos on basic addition and subtraction problems and help them research the state they chose to research. Even though I was only with them for two hours, I'm super excited that this is going to become a weekly thing for me and it confirms that my decision to want to become a teacher is still the right decision for me!

After I finished up at the elementary school I headed home to finish up my homework and then wrapped up the day by editing this blog post & watching TV with my mom and brother!

How was your week?

xoxo,
